Variety Children's Radiothon

June 26, 2009

Every year in June, My beautiful town of Prince George, B.C takes part in the Variety Children's Radiothon.  Variety is a children's charity.  Their goal is to raise funds and distribute grants throughout British Columbia to inspire hope, enrich lives, and build a better future for children who have special needs.  I was very fortunate to be a part of this special day.  On June 24th I called into the Radiothon at a local radio station called "94X" and pledged $100.00.  After pledging the money, I received the option of in return for my money, getting a little huggable teddy bear which I named "Miss Teen Northern British Columbia".  On June 27th, I took part in the charity's thanks at our local Child development centre.  Here, I was enlightened by the Variety Charity's spokespeople.  I was also granted to give my teddy bear to a child at the development centre.  Unfortunately, the little girl I gave the bear to was having a rough day, so I never got to take her picture, but there is a few other children I took pictures of with their fluffy bears.  I was very happy and pleased to hear that at this year's radiothon, my small town of Prince George raised $40,000.00 for The Variety Charity.  WOW!
